Dovi Alipoe currently serves as Director of Global Programs and Professor of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Management at Alcorn State University. He has been employed at Alcorn State since 1985. Prior to that, he worked at Texas Tech University in the Department of Agricultural Economics, as an Instructor. He received the Ph.D. degree from Texas Tech University with a major in Agricultural Economics and a minor in Business Administration.

FDr. Alipoe has many years of experience in conducting short-term and long-term training for students, government officials and farmers from developing countries, including Africa, Latin America and Asia. For example, he was involved in projects that provided short-term training for Bolivian dairy farmers, Pakistan government officials, vegetable farmers from Honduras, Tanzanian government officials, government officials and farmers from Zambia, etc. He has also done international work in Mali, Guinea, and Ghana.Over his career Dr. Alipoe has implemented research projects on various topics including, marketing strategies for small farmers, factors affecting the economic and financial performance of limited resources farmers, the impact of international trade on small farmers, and (currently) the impact of higher food prices on food security in selected west African countries. In addition to his current administrative duties in the University Office of Global Programs, he teaches courses in agribusiness management, agricultural finance, agribusiness international trade, and marketing.
