2014 Future Leaders Forum Scholarship Recipients:
The AIARD executive committee is very excited to share with you the developing details of the AIARD 50th anniversary conference on June 1 to 3, 2014 in Washington, DC.
"Celebrating 50 Years of Progress and Inspiring Action for a Food Secure Future."
To mark this important anniversary, this year's conference will focus on "taking the long view" of international agriculture and rural development. We will be inviting our membership to not only celebrate the accomplishments of the past, but to engage in forward thinking to create a strategic AIARD agenda for the future.
We will be welcoming Dr. Liam Downey, from the National University of Ireland, as our conference provocateur and keynote speaker. Dr. Downey will bring his experiences from chairing several European Union Foresight activities to our efforts.
In addition, we are pleased to announce that Mr. Roger Thurow, Chicago Council on Global Affairs, will provide our luncheon keynote to help us envision and plan for the future.
Finally, Ambassador Tony Hall, Executive Director of The Alliance to End Hunger and Former Member of Congress, will address the membership prior to the President’s Award Banquet on Monday evening.
